Musashino Promenade

Rainy clouds of lead
Entirely
Closes the canopy

Spring has not come as yet
Cherry trees
Not in bloom either

The farm's soil is
Real black
Of rich fertility

Coppice is hazy in brown
Making the folding screen of numerous kinky wires
In front of it
Several firing trees as forerunners of spring
Seethe in deep wine red

What a dazzling beauty
The astonishing yellowish green of
The weeping willow!

Just in front of the huge naked keyaki tree
Bamboos growing thick in groups are resisting
Their own heaviness

The perpendicular uprightness
Of the cedar tree!

A metasequoia
With one arm cut off with a slash from the shoulder
Still rises high vigorously

Mad yellow of forsythias!
Tropical white of magnolias!
Virgin's cheer of saxifrages!

Spirea!
You are getting to sweet sixteen soon, aren't you?

Stained are
The dispersed camellias on the ground scatteringly

Crimson and white banquet of
Sharply clear quinces!

Really the time is now
Just before the furious explosion of
Heavy oppression of spring
