DISSOLVING FORMS


unstable particles

    charmed quarks
    hadrons
    topaz poppies in new bloom

        in summer there is a river
        where bees drink
       in their blue thirst
        but now in January
        only kaleidoscopes
        of cold and wind

energies

    gold wool/red silk/the skin of tangerines

        the men go south
        to capture memories
        of an exploding star

        (gamma rays falling
                            so purely
            toward Alice Springs)

        bees swim toward Australia
        in their blue joy


crystals/mirrors

    water that swirls in pools
      the water tower at Charlotte Street
        rainsilver on Black Lake

a rosary
    where peaches grow
    and briary vines

(and steep light filters
through rose quartz)

                at home   the women
                who must write of this
                are turning the pages of old books

                imagining light from supernovae

                thirsting for light from
                the Southern Cross
