What Passed

Both of us were shy
Of the promise
By the early grave
Of the child whom
The rain-spending fall gave,
So young she died,
So late comes happiness,
So much in solitude.
David.
We have no home but this
Rainy low hillside
Unless we receive
What we crave
When we grieve
For it-not years after.
