September

I am in the same room alone.
This time the windows are open,
But the air seems as warm.
Outside, summer ruins itself
Piling up apples,
Filling the scored ricks.
The abstract cornucopia
Spills and winds everywhere
Through the sad harvest
Spreading as wide as bread.

Horn-hollow winter's coming.
I have felt the first breath.
