Will of Nature

Scenic lake crusted over with ice,
an arctic cold comes in the night,
all seeking shelter even the mice,
snow begins in the morning light.

Elements of nature ever so bold,
as freezing wind cuts to the bone,
chill factor makes it just too cold,
everything frozen just like a stone.

Ground all white covered in snow,
winter wonderland beyond compare,
as the cold wind continues to blow,
sitting by the fire we all now share.

The only good is that it won’t last,
it comes with fury and then it’s gone,
snow turns to rain as it starts to pass,
sitting by the fire we just sing a song.

So cold and grey for there is no sun,
a mystical land that now stands still,
as we wait patiently until it’s done,
for Mother Nature has her own will.
