Getting aged,
the volume of foods becomes less necessary

Mieworth, my cat, 15 to 16 years old now,
does not eat so much like I.
And she likes canned foods much more than
the usual dry foods recently.

What's more important, her jumping power dwindled.
She can't jump up the shelf of the closet at a breath.
It is to the utmost of her power that she crawls up my bed.
And except the time of eating twice a day,
she sleeps almost whole day
in the cane chair at the foot of my bed.

After her supper of canned fish,
sitting just beside me,
in reply to what I say;
"We are getting older and older, aren't we?"
she gazes at me with her golden eyes vacantly
without saying anything to me
