Varied Knowledge (2)

When I was a student,  a friend of mine once said to me.
"A coincidence is an intersection point
of the straight lines called physical necessity."

I said to him.
"It is very interesting.  Who said it?"

He said.
"Who said it! It's me that said it."

At that time, I had just finished reading a book
regarding the history of science and philosophy,
and I proudly talked him about the the contents;
the accumulation of analyses and the colligations
developed today's physical science and the humanities.

Then, he said to me.
"You read many books.
I read, but not so many.
I think for myself in my way."

It was almost half a century ago.
I wonder where and what he is doing now?
