Nostalgia
Celebrating the 70th birthday of Shimpei Kusano,
we drove to the halfway up the Mr. Fuji at
Yamanashi side with him. Apart from the parking
area, there was a place where the summit can be
seen closely, he was sketching it by himself. I was
at the opposite edge of the parking area to enjoy
viewing the scenery of the northern territory, where
the rugged peaks of Japan Alps Mountains could be
observed far away.
In a couple of days after this trip, I wrote a poem in
Chinese, and the following is the English translation.
In the north. a scenery of fertile plains.
Dotted are shining ponds and lakes.
Looks like threads, flows of rivers.
Dim in the distance, the peaks of thousand mountains.
The a cirrus cloud in the cobalt blue.
The limpid air. No winds, however
Too far is my birth place to see.
My thoughts float in the sky thousands of miles away. |
