Laying out on the sofa in my study, pillowing my head on my arm, enjoying smoke out of my
pipe and vaguely looking at the world atlas hung on the wall, I found that USA and USSR
were distinguished by two types of thin and deep green. China is colored by yellow. This
scroll atlas is made in England. Turning to Japan, I looked keenly to see what color this
country is, to my surprise, I found the islands are not rosy but pink.
