Sea of Life

 sail on a lonesome raft,
beneath the rays of sunshine,
survival is but a forgotten craft,
the sea surrounds and confines.

Wind stirs, whipping in a twirl,
last thread of hope is all but torn,
knowing your life is in such peril,
yet thinking of clothes so worn.

Night turns the sky pitch black,
securities have all been shattered,
searching for the courage you lack,
one?fs mind is completely tattered.

Constant wind continues to blow,
in the cold, shaking in utter fear,
on the open sea the raft does flow,
searching afar, for land that is near.

In misery comes the pouring rain,
chill to the bone, you begin to ache,
to survive, we must endure the pain,
the alternative is to fall and break.
