Poems of Samuel E. Stone

Dawning of Day

Wild flowers glistening with morning dew,
rays of sunshine giving light to a new day,
beneath the sky of shades of velvet, so blue,
in the meadow beds a young suckling fawn.

Song birds chirping, perched in the tall trees,
as busy squirrels scamper about on their way,
a gentle breeze stirs the soft growing leaves,
itfs the dawning of another new mystical day.

Shadows of branches, dance upon the ground,
as droves of ants march in cadence one by one,
everywhere you gazes, natural life is all around,
each, with their own chores that are never done.

Orderly perfection, consumes the natural flow,
a reminder of Almightyfs, brilliance and might,
from the simplest of creatures, to stars that glow,
universe of mystery, filled with wondrous sights.

Seeds upon the dirt, sprouting life from the earth,
rainbow of bright flowers, budding and blooming,
each day, the cycle of life continues to give birth,
yet, we must not forget, death is forever looming.
