Poems of Samuel E. Stone

Lost in the Darkness

Beneath the falling rain,
fields of shamrock green,
washing away the pain,
thoughts can not be seen.

Survival, the ultimate game,
a struggle beyond compare,
for mankind canft be tame,
roaming, you must beware.

Ever since the start of time,
motivated by human greed,
everything is yours or mine,
no matter if there is a need.

Savage behavior so bold,
mighty power rules the land,
peace and love to behold,
buried in the shifting sand.

Spirits consumed in desire,
lost in the dark of the night,
never seeing, feeling the fire,
hopefs light fades from sight.
