Owl Upon a Perch

Standing on the threshold of another day,
a foggy mist of man’s lonely natural plight,
knowing obstacles will be coming our way,
we must decide whether to run or to fight.

In a land where good and evil constantly clash,
many are controlled by power and their greed,
never realizing our lives could end in a flash,
we battle to the death when there is no need.

Each new day is an adventure beyond compare,
faced with challenges we find along the path,
hopes and dreams with loved ones we share,
choices and consequences, forgiveness or wrath.

Lost in the moment, survival is not a simple task,
always dreaming of tomorrow helps us to cope,
no matter what we do we’re haunted by the past,
in the end all we have left is to believe and hope.

God is the answer to all the questions we seek,
salvation is the quest for which we must search,
God protects the good, be them strong or weak,
through trials and tribulations an owl is perched.
