Sights and Sounds

Birds of flight chirping with natural delight,
sounds of music, the air fresh and so clean,
soaring across dawns early light such a sight,
nature’s wonders create such angelic scenes.

Rabbits frolicking in the tall blades of grass,
gentle deer so meek, standing at woods end,
glimpse of Heaven, white clouds slowly pass,
picture perfect setting to share with friends.

Nature holds the peace and turmoil on earth,
this struggle to survive, it keeps us all alive,
living is a gift that stays with us from birth,
if it was easy, well, we just wouldn’t thrive.

Sadly beauty surrounds us but we don’t see,
lost in self indulgence, always on the move,
wanting more when enough is all we need,
simple pleasures found at the shore of the sea.

Now, yesterday is gone, it is now the past,
and, tomorrow is merely a glimmer of hope,
for nothing of this earth is made to ever last,
so many things we do just so we can cope.
